Cibin Raj, Principal Investigator
Cibin Raj is an assistant professor at the Pennsylvania State University. He holds a dual appointment in Civil and Environmental Engineering Depoartment and Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department. His research is in the field of computational ecohydrology, specializing in application of mathematical models for quantifying ecohydrological impacts of climate and land use change, deep learning application in water quality modeling, and development of decision support tools for sustainable watershed management. Cibin Raj completed his PhD in Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Purdue University.Prior to joining the Pennsylvania State University, he was a postdoctoral research associate in the same department.
Gourab Saha, PhD Candidate
Gourab Kumer Saha started his MS in Agricultural and Biological Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University in Spring 2017. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in the same major. Gourab completed his bachelor's degree in Water Resources Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2012. He worked for the Institute of Water Modelling, Bangladesh (https://www.iwmbd.org/) and the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB, https://bwdb.portal.gov.bd/). He is working on computational eco-hydrology, geospatial data science, and ag analytics. He is interested in hydrology, water science, watershed modeling, climate change, and artificial intelligence-based environmental modeling.
Marali Kalra, PhD Student
Marali Kalra is a Ph.D. candidate in Water Resource Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. Her research interests include the ethical dimensions of ecosystem services and the use of hydrological models to quantify ecosystem services at a watershed scale. She earned her B.S. in Natural Resource Engineering from Penn State University.
Md Hamidul Haque, MS Graduate Research Assistant
Hamidul Haque is a Water Resources Engineer who works with different modeling tools for decision making and iterative research. He is a MS student in Agricultural and Biological Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. He holds a bachelor degree in Water Resources Engineering. Before joining to this lab, he worked in industry for four (4) years and was involved in twelve (12) different projects of various scopes and extents. Currently he is working on how manureshed based manure management strategies can improve water quality of natural streams across the USA.
Rashid Ansari, PhD Student
Rashid Ansari has started his PhD in agricultural and biological engineering department at Pennsylvania State University since 2022. He graduated from the University of Tehran with a master’s degree in Hydraulics and Water Engineering. His long-life passion for watershed hydrology and flood management has brought home to explore sustainable strategies to adapt with climate change and future flood
